Call for proposals is open!
We are pleased to announce that the call for proposals for PyConES 2015 is open! The time has come for you to send us your talk proposals for the conference, and this year we are introducing some important changes: keep on reading!
We accept two formats for the proposals: talks and tutorials.
- Talks will be 30 minutes long plus 5 minutes for Q&A and a 5 minute break. Talks will take place on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of November.
- Tutorials and workshops will be between 2 and 3 hours long, and will take place on Friday 20th of November.
As usual there will be 5 minutes lightning talks during the weekend, but this will be organized on the very same day.
The deadline for sending your proposals to PyConES 2015 is September 1st 9th, 00:00. To be crystal clear: your last chance will be a second after August 31st September 8th 23:59:59 ;) Don't wait until the last moment!
As we said, this year there is an important addition: we will publish the proceedings of the conference, therefore the selection process will be peer reviewed. In the submit form we ask you specifically if you are willing to submit an accompanying paper for your talk, so we hope that many of you do, whether you come from an academic/scientific background or not.
Frequently Asqued Questions (FAQ)
I have no experience, can I submit a talk to PyConES?
Yes please! Everybody is invited to submit proposals to PyConES. We want to attract total beginners, intermediate users and Python experts, gather them in one space and encourage them to exchange ideas. PyConES is a conference both for experienced programmers and for people willing to learn.
May I send several proposals to PyConES?
Yes please! Send us all the proposals you want, the review team will be in charge of selecting the most interesting ones. Naturally we will try not to make you speak at two rooms at the same time ;)
When will we know the schedule?
Once we close the CFP we will rush to have the schedule ready as soon as possible and notify the speakers. We cannot tell a precise date, but we will try to make it for the third week of September.
I am a company and want a sponsored talk at PyConES. Is it possible?
